Boost your child's brain and eye health with Nestlé Nankid® 4 OmegaSmart.

When it comes to diet, you want to ensure they are getting everything they need to support their development. Essential fatty acids, such as omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids for growth and immunity, are essential for brain and eye health. They cannot be produced by your body and must be obtained from your diet.

Brain Health

Your child’s brain undergoes enormous growth during the preschool years and by 6 years of age, has grown to approximately 90 % of its size. The correct omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acid ratio is required for cognitive function, growth and immunity. This ratio is low, i.e. close to a 1:1 ratio of omega-6 fatty acid to omega-3 fatty acid and changes as the needs of your child’s brain develops with age.

Eye Health

DHA is a very important omega-3 fatty acid, found in oily fish, and is important for brain and visual development, growth and immunity. Your eye contains a very high proportion of DHA, where it plays a vital role in photoreception (light detection for vision).

Sources of Essential Fatty Acids

Omega’s are found in vegetable oil, corn, soybean, canola oils, walnuts and oily fish. The modern diet often contains too much processed food and refined vegetable oils. This has reduced the omega-3 content in our diet. This means the food we eat may not always contain the correct ratio of omega-3 to omega-6 fatty acids. This can negatively affect children’s immunity, growth and development.

OmegaSmart

This is where a fortified drink for growing children can help. NESTLÉ® NANKID® 4 contains OmegaSmart to support brain development and vision. This unique blend of omega-6 and omega-3 is in the correct ratio for 3 – 5 year old children.

Build a strong foundation for life – give your child NESTLÉ® NANKID® 4.

IMPORTANT NOTICE. A-well balanced diet, both during pregnancy and after delivery, helps sustain an adequate supply of breastmilk. Exclusive breastfeeding is recommended during the first 6 months of life followed by the introduction of adequate nutritious complementary foods, along with sustained breastfeeding up to two years of age and beyond.

NESTLÉ® NANKID® 4 is not a breastmilk substitute. As babies grow at different rates, seek advice with your health professionals on the appropriate time when your baby should start receiving this product.
